HTC Desire 826

Capturing the major market share is not an easy task and especially when  your competitors are trying equally. The Taiwanese giant, HTC launched many devices in past 1 year. They are one of the most active company in the Indian subcontinent. This shows their dedication and hard work.

After immense success of their Desire-series, the company added a new member to it, the Desire 826. Lets check out the tech specs and review of the alluring-Desire 826.

Tech Specs:

The HTC Desire 826 is a 2G-3G-LTE ready with Dual SIM card slots. The device has a 5.5 inch Super LCD3 display which supports up to 16M colours. Unlike the other Desire-series smartphones, this device has a better Full-HD display resolution with pixel density of 401 ppi. The connectivity options available in this device are Bluetooth 4.1 with A2DP and apt-X, microUSB 2.0 and Wi-Fi.

For photography, the device has 13 MP primary and secondary camera unit. The primary camera also has an in-built LED-flash for low-light photography. It is capable of recording videos at 1080p resolution and slow-motion videos at 720p resolution. The secondary camera is also capable of recording at 1080p resolution. The CPU of this phone consists of two Quad core units, clocked at 1.7 GHz and 1 GHz respectively. For multi-tasking and gaming, the phone is powered by 2 GB of RAM and an Adreno 405 GPU. Review:

Starting with the looks and design, I have absolutely no complains. Like other HTC smartphones, this device looks stunning and gorgeous. The built-quality is quite decent and sturdy. The display of this device is also very impressive and better than any other Desire smartphone. The combination of Super LCD3 with Full HD resolution seems complete with decorous pixel density of 401 ppi.

The Desire 826 comes with 13 MP camera units on both sides. The camera seems good on-paper but fails to impress. I expected a better image quality but the image turns out to be over saturated. The colours produced by the camera are also not up to the mark. The front-camera is good for clicking selfies but have similar issues.

The performance of this device is below satisfaction. Being an HTC smartphone and powered by a 64-bit processor, I expected majestic performance from this device. The first issue I faced was over-heating. The device heats up very fast and it becomes difficult to handle for a longer duration. Inspite of 2 GB RAM combination, I experienced lag in the performance. Though, the GPU works fine and handles the graphic intensive games well but the over-heating issue may exploit your gaming experience. The company improved almost everything but pretermit to upgrade the battery.

Verdict:

Despite of stunning looks and amazing display, the Desire 826 fails to impress. Its competitors, the OnePlus One and the Xperia M4 Aqua are much better options. The Xiaomi Mi4 also scored better on performance scale. This phone is only meant for the HTC fans and I don't recommend this device to advanced user.

I will rate it 3 out of 5 for the display and design and hope that HTC will improve these things in the upcoming devices.
