Samsung Galaxy Tab 3
Hey Friends,
There are many people in India who consider 'Big is Better' and for those I have reviewed a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 (3G). According to me, 8 inches is an ideal screen size for a Tablet computer.
Samsung, as we all know follow a same design pattern for their "Galaxy-series" devices. This device is also identical to other Galaxy-devices. It uses a Micro-Sim and is 3G-WiFi ready. It doesn't feel bulgy but weighs 314g. A capacitive screen with 16M colors can make your experience better. It also comes with 16GB/32GB internal memory which could be expanded upto 64GB with the help of a microSD card slot. A newer version of Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP (sadly not Low-energy), a microUSB v2.0 that also works as a USB Host is all what you need. There is also a 5 MP, autofocus primary camera which is capable of video recording at 720p and 1.3 MP front facing camera. It runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean OS) and carries Dual-core 1.5 GHz, "Exynos 4212" chipset and for gaming it has "Mali-400MP" as GPU. This device also have Accelerometer, compass and proximity sensors. Available in two colors- White and Gold, this device has a non-removable Li-ion battery with a capacity of 4450 mAh.
So these are the tech specs of the device now time for some review. Actually this device seems better on paper than real. An 8" display with a resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels with only 189 ppi pixel density, Samsung are you kidding!. The display do not perform well under sunlight. The resolution is fine but pixel density is too low. It also has a 1.5GB RAM which is sufficient backed by a decent processor but the GPU is not good as such. The gaming experience on this device is not very good. Using internet on this device is a good experience and battery back up is also good (because of it's 4450 mAh battery). Both cameras are decent enough. People generally don't prefer using camera on a tablet computer but if you use it then it's actually good.
Having said all this it's time for conclusion:-
Samsung have put a lot of effort on this device and it's better than Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 in every aspect. So this Diwali if you are looking to buy a new tablet computer you should consider it or if you can wait I would suggest you to buy Google Nexus 7 (2013) which seems amazing. I will give 3 stars to this device for the effort put by Samsung and for it's screen size.
