Xiaomi Mi 3
Xiaomi Inc.
is a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer, which is nowadays giving a very tough
competition to many Indian and other international mobile manufacturers. They
are providing smart phones with high-end specs and that too at a very
affordable price. This is the review of their “flagship” device in India, the Mi 3.
Tech Specs:
The Xiaomi
Mi3 is a 2G-3G-WiFi ready device and supports only one SIM card. The device has
a 5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen which can support up to 16M colors and
that too in FHD! The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 provides the necessary protection
to this device.
The internal
storage of this device is 16 GB which cannot be expanded. The device also packs
some futuristic technology like NFC or Near Field Communication. The other
connectivity options are Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP and microUSB v2.0 with USB
On-the-go.
For
photography, it has a 13 MP primary camera with dual-LED flash and 2 MP front
camera. The cameras can record videos in FHD.
The Mi3
comes with Android v4.4.2 (KitKat) with MIUI 5. The smartphone is powered by
2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Quad-core processor with a combination of 2 GB
RAM. For rich gaming experience, it has Adreno 330 GPU.
The device also
packs sensors like accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass and barometer. A
3050 mAh non-removable Li-ion battery provides juice for it’s all day long
performance.
Review:
Well, to be
really honest I am not required to review this device because its on-paper
specs say it all. But I am reviewing this for you all, so that you all can know
about it in detail.
The Xiaomi
Mi 3 is one of the most beautiful devices I have ever seen in my entire life.
The design, built-quality is just superb. Hats
off Xiaomi!
The display
of this device is just incredible at this price point. It is available in India
for around 14000 INR ($ 235 approx) and the display is FHD. The User-Interface
is also very nice. I really love the MIUI and hope it will improve more in
future. The MIUI is somewhat similar to the UI you will get in the iPhone but
don’t worry it is not exactly the same.
The camera
of Mi 3 is another magnetic point. A 13 MP primary shooter and 2 MP front
shooter which can record videos in FHD. The camera quality of both the cameras
is phenomenal. The only problem which I faced with the camera is auto-focus.
The device which I reviewed has some problem while auto-focusing an object. But
this problem can be device specific.
The
performance of Xiaomi Mi 3 is very smooth and lag-free. The phone performs
really well and has no over-heating issues as such. The gaming experience is
also very good and I am highly satisfied with its overall performance. The
battery life of Xiaomi Mi 3 is also very satisfactory. The battery lasts for
one to one-and-a half day with good usage.
Verdict:
The Xiaomi Mi 3 is an outstanding
device with high-end specs at an affordable price. The only problem which the
consumers are facing in India is very limited supply. The device is available
exclusively on one of the leading e-commerce website in India but the supply
limited to just some thousand units in a particular time frame (say one week).
The stocks don’t even last for minutes, forget about days.
The device is awesome and I will not
compare it with other devices. I will straight away give it all five points. Xiaomi
we are waiting for more.
