Moto G

The Motorola is all set to give a tough competition to many Indian brands with their Moto G. Motorola recently launched their budget smartphone with premium features and competitive price tag in India. This is the review of the most anticipated device of 2014, the Moto G.

Let us have a look at it's tech specs:

The Moto G is 2G-3G-WiFi ready device which comes in Dual-SIM variant in India. It has a 4.5 inch IPS LCD capacitive display with HD (720p) resolution which supports 16M colors and has the pixel density of 326 ppi. Another feature of this display is Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which makes it strong and scratch resistance.
Other connectivity options are Bluetooth 4.0 LE with A2DP and microUSB v2.0 with USB Host.
For photography, the phone has a 5 MP primary camera with LED flash which can record videos at 720p resolution and 1.3 MP secondary camera.
The phone runs on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) and has a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor which is clocked at 1.2 GHz. For gaming, it has a single core Adreno 305 GPU clocked at 450 MHz. The device has 1 GB RAM and available in two variants i.e., 8 GB and 16 GB. Other features of this smartphone are Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, Compass and FM Radio. A 2070 mAh non-removable battery gives it juice for all day long backup.

Review Time:

Motorola entered into the Indian market with a bang!. This phone is definitely the best Android smartphone available in the Indian market in the budget-segment. It feels comfortable in hands and the best part is you can change back panels according to your preference. The screen size is just perfect with great resolution and the pixel density equivalent to Apple iPhone 5s. The viewing angles are also decent and sun readability is above average. The phone has a 5 MP primary camera with LED flash and 1.3 MP secondary camera but to be really honest I am disappointed with it's performance. The picture quality of primary camera is just average.
The performance of the device is great. A quad-core processor and 1 GB RAM with dedicated GPU is just a fantastic combination. The phone can handle multiple tasks very conveniently and my gaming experience was also good. The battery lasts 24 hrs with a good usage.

Verdict:

This is a fabulous device but only few little things are missing like the external microSD card slot and the battery is not user removable. But these are just little things and can be ignored. Otherwise, this phone is great with all the Google services and experience. I will rate it 4.5 out of 5.
