HTC Desire 820

HTC Corporation is a Taiwanese manufacturer of Smartphone and Tablets. They have recently launched two new Smart phones in India, the Desire 820 and the Desire 820Q. The phones are packed with some amazing and unique features. Let us find out, how much “desirable” is their Desire 820?

Tech Specs:
The Desire 820 is a 2G-3G-LTE enabled device with Dual SIM option. The phone features a 5.5 inch LCD Capacitive touchscreen, with HD resolution. The pixel density of the display is 267ppi and can support up to 16M colors. The internal storage of the device is 16 GB which can be expanded up to 128 GB with the help of microSD card. The connectivity options in this device are- WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and NFC.
For photography, the Desire 820 packs a 13 MP primary camera with LED flash and 8 MP secondary camera. Both the cameras are capable of recording Full HD videos. With the help of primary camera, you could even record slow motion videos at 720p.
The device runs on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) with HTC Sense UI 6.0 on the top. The most attractive part of the device is its 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-core processor with a combination of 2GB RAM. There are two Quad-core units in the processor which are clocked at 1.5 GHz and 1.0 GHz respectively, making it an Octa-core unit. For handling graphics, it has an Adreno 405 GPU. A 2600 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery provides juice to this Smartphone.

Review:
The HTC Desire 820 is one of the most anticipated devices in India. The device packs a 64-bit processor which makes it unique from its competitors. The advantages of 64-bit processor are- better performance, better security, more stability and better multitasking. Well, let us first discuss about the display of this smartphone. The display of the device is 5.5 inch LCD with HD resolution. I personally think that the screen size is too big to handle and the resolution should be Full HD. Though, the pixel density is just decent.
The performance of both the cameras is quite impressive and I really liked the slow motion video mode. The primary camera performs well even in the low-light conditions. HTC had started the trend of placing the speakers on the front side of the device and they have continued it.
The performance of the Smartphone is really good. The 64-bit Octa-core processor is completely lag-free and my gaming experience was also very good. The phone can handle multitasks very efficiently but not everything is good about this device. There are some issues too. The first one is the poor battery life and the second one is over-heating. The battery backup is not up to the mark. The reason behind this could be display and the processor.

Verdict:
The overall performance of Desire 820 is quite impressive. I really liked its camera and the positioning of speakers. The performance of the device is also very good but the issues like battery and over-heating can’t be neglected. Its competitors are the Lumia 830 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo.
Well, I would say buy this if you are a Businessman because it could provide you better security or if you want something different in your device.
I will rate it 4 out of 5 for its performance, design, built quality and camera.
