Lenovo A6000 Plus

If I say that Chinese brands will rule the mobile phone market in the coming years, then I might not be wrong. Though, I am not predicting the future or saying anything against other brands. All I am saying is that its high time now for each brand to re-frame their strategy and launch products according to the consumer's need.
Lenovo identified the consumer need and launched their 'beast'- the Lenovo A6000. The phone got both good reviews and love from the critics and the customers. Now, they have come up with an 'upgraded' and much better version of it- the Lenovo A6000 Plus.

Tech Specs:

Like its predecessor, the A6000 Plus is also 2G-3G-LTE ready device. It has a 5 inch capacitive touchscreen with IPS panel. It supports 16M colours and has an HD resolution (720 x 1280 pixels). The display has the pixel count of 294 ppi, which is fair enough for 5 inch screen size. The phone also have Dual SIM connectivity option.

For photography, the A6000 Plus is packed with an 8 MP primary camera with LED flash and a 2 MP secondary camera. The primary camera can record videos in HD resolution (720p), while the secondary camera is fixed-focused. The phone has an internal memory of 16 GB, which can be expanded up to 32 GB with the help of microSD card. Other connectivity options available in the device are Wi-Fi, microUSB 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP.

The device runs on the Android 4.4.4 (KitKat) with Lenovo Vibe UI 2.0 on-top. It is powered by the Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 Quad-core processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz. For handling multi-tasks, it is complimented by 2 GB RAM. The Adreno 306 GPU handles the graphics and sound is enhanced by Dolby Digital Plus. For all-day long performance, the A6000 Plus is backed by a 2300 mAh Li-ion battery.

Review:

The A6000 Plus looks identical to its predecessor. The A6000 was also good in terms of looks and design but as I had said earlier, the built-quality was not really impressive. The screen is also good with HD resolution and performs well in outdoor conditions. The overall performance of the display is quite impressive.

The camera units are also the same used in the A6000 by the company. The primary camera is good during day-light condition, but it cannot record videos in FHD resolution. This cannot be ignored because its a successor to the older A6000. The company should have worked a little on camera and improved it. The secondary camera is also good for clicking selfies and video calling.

The hardware specs is also kept similar to the A6000. It is packed by the same Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 processor and GPU. The A6000 Plus is powered by 2 GB RAM, while its predecessor just got 1 GB. The RAM management system is still not very impressive and you will not feel any difference in the performance of both the smartphones. The battery backup of this device is superb.

Verdict:

The Lenovo A6000 Plus is not an 'upgrade' according to me. The company had just fixed the low storage and improved RAM. I think they could have given this deal before to the customers. They didn't changed or improved the looks and the built-quality. The cameras are also not improved.

Though, I am not saying that its a bad device. If you talk about its performance, then it is equally better to the A6000. But mind you, its "equally better" not "better than". My personal expectations were quite high and I am feeling a little disappointed.

I will rate it 4.5 out of 5, just because I have given this rating to the A6000. For me, this device is same as the A6000 with just improved storage and RAM, not the performance.
