Microsoft Lumia 435 Dual SIM
Taking the competition to next level, Microsoft
recently launched the ultra-affordable Windows Phone running devices in India. The
devices are aimed to provide great user experience at an affordable price. This
is the review of the cheapest Windows Phone by Microsoft, the Lumia 435.
Tech
Specs:
The Lumia 435 is a Dual-SIM smartphone. It supports
both 2G and 3G modes and also has Wi-Fi connectivity. The device has a 4 inch
capacitive touchscreen which supports 16M colors. The resolution of the display
is 480 x 800 pixels with pixel density of 233 ppi. It also supports
multi-touch. The phone comes with 8 GB of internal memory which can be expanded
up to 128 GB with the help of microSD card.
The device bundles a 2 MP primary camera and a VGA
secondary camera. Both the cameras can record videos at 480p resolution. For
connectivity, it has microUSB 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP.
The Lumia 435 run on the latest built of Windows
Phone 8.1, the Lumia Denim and it will be upgraded to Windows 10. The phone is
powered by Snapdragon 200 Dual-core processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz with a
combination of 1 GB RAM. For handling graphics, it has an Adreno 302 GPU. The
device has a power house of 1560 mAh.
Review:
The phone looks similar to the Nokia X family. Its
design and built quality is quite impressive. The touchscreen of this
affordable smartphone is good with a decent display (at least at this price
point). It is also worth noting that phone has an internal memory of 8 GB,
which is a plus point.
The only thing which is not so good in this device
is the camera performance. The phone has a primary camera of just 2 MP which is
below average. The quality of camera is not at all good and I will not talk
about the performance of the secondary camera. Though, it has the Lumia Camera
app which tries to improve the performance.
The best part of the Lumia 435 is the hardware. The
phone comes with a decent processor with a combination of 1 GB RAM. I think
most of Windows Phone users; especially those with 512 MB RAM devices faces the
issue of limited apps, features and games. The phone runs on the latest version
of Windows Phone 8.1 and it will be upgraded to Windows 10. My gaming
experience was also sort of average.
Verdict:
The
Lumia 435 is a good smartphone. Its design, built quality, software and
hardware are quite impressive at the given price point. The only reason which
makes this device a little dull is the camera. I personally feel that there is
no need to launch this Lumia with the Lumia 532. The Lumia 532 seems much better
than this device and that could affect the sales of this smartphone. It has got
a much better processor and camera with a little difference in price.
I
will rate it 3 out of 5, not because it’s a bad phone but just because the
Lumia 532 is much better option at the price point of 6000-7000 bucks (approx.
$100-$115).
