Nokia Lumia 535 Dual SIM
This is the review of the first “Microsoft” branded Lumia, the Lumia 535.
Tech Specs:
This Lumia, like other budget friendly devices is 2G-3G-WiFi ready and supports up to two SIM cards. It has a 5 inch IPS LCD Capacitive touchscreen which supports 16M colours. The resolution of the display is 540 x 960 pixels with pixel density of 220 ppi. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 provides necessary protection to the device. The internal storage of this Lumia is 8 GB, which is expandable up to 128 GB.
The phone features a 5 MP snapper of each side, i.e. Primary and Secondary. The Primary camera has an LED flash and can record videos at 480p. Other connectivity options are microUSB 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.0 (LE).
The phone runs on Windows Phone 8.1 (Lumia Denim) out of the box. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz with a combination of 1GB RAM. For handling graphics, it has an Adreno 302 GPU. A 1905 mAh Li-ion battery provides power to this pocket-friendly phone.
Review:
Microsoft Lumia 535 is beautiful looking device. It carries the tradition of looking simply gorgeous, like other Lumias. The Nokia devices are known for their design and built-quality but the built-quality of this device is just average. This is the first time I am writing this but that’s the truth. Sorry Microsoft!
The display of Lumia 535 is also average in terms of resolution. The viewing angles are good but the combination of Screen Size, Resolution and Pixel density is just average. The touchscreen is smooth but it has some issues. The touch lags sometimes but need not to worry because Microsoft has promised a bug fixing update on December 27th. The secondary camera of this phone is really impressive but the primary camera is ordinary. Although, they have given an LED flash in this budget centric smartphone but it can’t record videos in HD mode.
It runs on latest built- the Lumia Denim. Don’t worry I will review it soon for you all. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor seems to be outdated. Microsoft, we are expecting at least Snapdragon 400. Although, it’s performance is not that bad. The RAM is just enough for this Operating System. The Graphic unit is also as outdated as processor. The battery backup of Lumia 535 is decent.
Verdict:
To be really honest, I’m not really happy with this device. This could be your first Lumia but I will not recommend this to a Lumia user. The display, camera, performance and built-quality are just average. The front camera and Big screen size are the only reasons that you should buy this device. The touchscreen is not really an issue because Microsoft will fix it soon.
I will rate it just 3 out of 5, keeping in mind its pros and cons.
One more thing, this is my last post for this year so wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! See you all next year..
